Beauvais-Tillé Airport - All Information on Beauvais-Tillé Airport (BVA)

The Beauvais-Tillé Airport (IATA: BVA) is a French international airport located in the commune of Tillé, not far from the city of Beauvais. Used mainly by charter and low-cost aircraft, it's one of France's busiest airports.

The French capital Paris is just 85 kilometers (53 miles) north-northwest of the airport's location. Around 4 million people travel through it each year now.

History of Beauvais-Tillé Airport

There has been constant improvement and modernization at the Paris-Beauvais International Airport since its inception in 1955.

During the Battle of France, the Germans seized control of this airfield, which had been built in the 1930s. Military airfields were set up at Beauvais during the occupation of France by the Luftwaffe.

A bomber base was initially used by the Germans at the airfield. Battle of Britain veterans KG 76 and SKG 1 participated in the conflict.

Terminal 1 was inaugurated in 1980, the year of its opening. It was in 1997 that Ryanair first landed at JFK. Terminal 2 was developed in 2010 to make travel more convenient for travelers.

Aircraft movements can now be carried out in bad visibility thanks to the airport's installation of a Category III Instrument Landing System in 2011.

While redevelopment was underway in 2014, construction on the taxiway, Terminal 1, and runway 04-22 was in full force. Since opening in 2015, the airport's new bus station has made it easier for tens of thousands of annual visitors to get around.

Since January 22, 2019, the new control tower has been operational. It sits between the two terminals on the airport's southern side, replacing the one built in 1962.

Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) for runway 12 and CAT III Instrument Landing System (ILS) for runway 30 are all available on the main runway. At the end of 2019, a PAPI will also be installed on runway 30.

This allows planes to land at the airport in poor weather, with visibility as low as 75 meters.

It was a basic hangar constructed in 1979 when Ryanair chose Beauvais–Tillé as the hub for three daily flights to Dublin in May 1997.

Airport expansions have occurred since then, with four more plane terminals and the second terminal of 6,000 square meters (65,000 square feet) being erected in 2010. The airport can accommodate passenger jets up to the size of a medium.

For the safety of the locals, the nighttime flight ban has been tightly enforced since 2007. between 23:00 and 06:30, the terminal building is closed.

In addition to the two terminals, the airport includes a few restaurants, a snack bar, and a few shops, both airside and on the ground. Coach and rail services connect the airport with central Paris.

The Arc de Triomphe is about a kilometer west of Porte Maillot, where the coach drops off and picks up passengers for the 75-minute trip to Paris. Porte Maillot is in the 17th arrondissement.

Paris can be reached via minibus, shuttle as well as other modes of public transportation.

The airport also has a taxi stand. The Transports Urbains du Beauvaisis provides a commuter bus service to Beauvais town center.

Tille - Tillé – Aéroport Airport is on the 12th line. To get from the airport to the Parc Municipal, Maillart, the Cathédrale, and the Mairie (City Hall), you'll need to take a shuttle.

Nearly 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) away lies Beauvais railway station, which offers connections to the Paris Gare du Nord and Amiens, among other places.
